Gaining the confidence to take a chance on yourself.

Last week Ryan and I had a great conversation with Lissy, one of the participants of our first Restart workshop. We were checking in to see how she was doing, how things were going, and if they had any more feedback.

“I bought a domain, I have a business plan, and I owe a lot of that to the workshop,” she shared. I asked Lissy why she signed up for the workshop and what expectations she had going in. “I didn’t know if I wanted to go into business for myself,” she said, “Should I keep throwing resumes at the wall or take a chance on myself?”

I was glad to hear our workshop enabled her to answer that question and more. In just a few hours she worked through many of the uncertainties of what “taking a chance” on herself would look and feel like. Lissy was able to draft her personal rules for success, identify a niche service for a niche audience, and map out her own “Not-so-Scary pricing and service options.”

In addition, Lissy told us that she gained the confidence to forward and reduced her fear of going out on her own. And that, by far, was the most rewarding thing she could have said because Ryan and I know that fear from our own experiences.

Our next Restart workshop takes place next week on Monday, June 17 from 12-4 pm EST. If you’ve ever wondered if you should take a chance on yourself then I encourage you to join us. We hope to see you there!
